A badly-wounded man begs for a couple's help as they embrace following a terrorist attackA couple embrace each other, relieved to have survived a devastating terror attack on a Brussels Metro station unscathed.
But lying just inches away from them outside the Maelbeek Metro, a man lies badly wounded and in agony on the pavement.
With his clothes ripped apart following the force of the blast, his legs and face can be seen covered in blood.
As the couple embrace, he stretches out his wounded arm, desperately seeking help from the pair.
After comforting one another for a brief second, the couple then quickly turn their attentions towards the injured man.
The couple - who moments earlier had been hugging each other - then go to help the injured man
They can be seen leaning over the victim as he lies with other casualties on the pavement.
In another picture, the woman, wearing a blue jacket, can be seen tending to wounds on his face. The injured man can be seen sat up as he waits for emergency services to arrive.
The pictures were taken seconds after the blast at about 9.19am.
It killed at least 10 people and injured dozens more. The bomb attack on the busy Metro station came about one hour after two explosions rocked Brussels' main airport.

Mesothelioma Survival Rates About 40 percent of patients with mesothelioma survive the first year after diagnosis. That survival rate depends on many factors, including age, cancer stage, cancer type, race and gender. Long-term survivors attribute their success to treatment from a mesothelioma specialist, alternative medicine and nutritional changes. Average mesothelioma survival rates Mesothelioma claimed nearly 30,000 American lives between 1999 and 2010. About 40 percent of U.S. patients live to the one year mark. By the second year, about 20 percent of patients are still alive. And by the third year, the number is 8 percent. How is survival rate measured? Researchers describe the mesothelioma survival rate in several ways. They usually talk about it in terms of one-year survival, the percentage of people who survive for a year after diagnosis. Through their studies, they also look at longer survival times, including the number of people who live two years, three years and five years
